About Arlington Arlington is a city in Tarrant County, Texas (USA) within the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Located approximately 12 miles (19 km) east of downtown Fort Worth and 20 miles (32 km) west of downtown Dallas, Arlington is home to the University of Texas at Arlington, a doctoral-granting institution.

The city is served by two Interstate Highways, I-20, also known as Ronald Reagan Memorial Highway, and I-30, also named Tom Landry Memorial Highway. Arlington falls in the CFa (Humid, Subtropical) region which is a climate zone characterized by hot, humid summers and mild to cool winters.

Parking in Arlington Arlington County manages on-street parking (over 53,000 spaces) to move people and goods efficiently, support business district vitality and create livable neighborhoods. The majority of the off-street spaces within garages and surface lots (over 100,000 spaces) are owned, maintained and managed by the private sector. Arlington encourages the use of off-street parking through signage and promotional materials.

Parking Signs The placement and maintenance of signed parking controls on the street involves staff from the Data Collection and Signs Teams of the Transportation Engineering Division. The routine repair and replacement of parking signs is done by the Signs Team in response to notification or in the normal course of work throughout the county.

Disability Parking People with disabilities displaying Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) plates or placards have certain parking privileges in Arlington to ensure accessibility to businesses, services and residences.

Residential Permit Parking Program Residential Permit Parking Zones have been established in residential neighborhoods adjacent to major corridors or traffic generators. Red and white "Permit Parking" street signs indicate if a neighborhood is a residential permit area. Only neighborhood residents with County issued permits and their visitors may park on these streets during restricted parking hours; drivers without zone permit stickers, FlexPass or a short-term visitor pass risk ticketing and towing.

Parking in Garages There are a plenty of garage parking options available in and around the county. One may choose to park in a garage if the parking requirement is for more than just an hour or two. Parking Garages are highly suitable for both short and long term parking requirements.

Best Parking helps you choose the best suitable parking facility for off street parking via an interactive map. Most garages are suitable options for economical long term parking.
