Denver Parking Guide
About Denver Denver is the largest city and the capital of the U.S. state of Colorado. Denver is also the second most populous county in Colorado after El Paso County. Denver is a consolidated city and county. Denver is nicknamed the Mile-High City because its official elevation is exactly one mile or 5,280 feet (1,609.344 m) above sea level, making it one of the highest major cities in the United States.
Denver has also been known historically as the Queen City of the Plains and the Queen City of the West, because of its important role in the agricultural industry of the high-plains region in eastern Colorado and along the foothills of the Colorado Front Range. Denver's climate is very sunny, averaging 300 days of sunshine a year. Like all cities along the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains, Denver is subject to sudden changes in weather.
Parking in Denver Metered Parking in Denver- Smart Meters Denver Public Works started the "smart" parking meters in the Downtown area in an effort to explore ways to make parking more convenient. The Smart parking meters are solar powered, wireless and accept Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards. The meters also accept nickels, dimes, quarters and dollar coins.
ParkSmart Denver Smart Cards/Cask Keys are prepaid cash cards for parking in Denver. ParkSmart Denver Cards are an easy way to put time on Smart Meters. The credit card sized Smart Card comes pre-loaded and is available at many locations. The rates and time limits for metered parking vary by location, and are posted on the meter or kiosk. Parking is free on Sundays and City Holidays.
Off Street parking in Denver Denver Public Works manages both surface parking lots and parking garages that are accessible by the general public. When planning your trip to Denver or looking for somewhere to park for living, working or playing, consider using one of the City's parking lots or garages.
Best Parking presents the parking garages on an interactive map to make the parking reservation process quicker and enhance the comparison of available facilities.
Residential parking permits A residential parking permit exempts a resident's vehicle from the posted, on-street parking time limit restrictions in the block on which the owner of the vehicle resides. While having a residential parking permit doesn't guarantee you a parking space, it does mean you don't have to worry about time limits when parked on your block.
Parking Tickets You can pay your parking ticket online, over the phone, in person, at a 24/7 kiosk, or by mail.
