About Kansas City
Kansas City, often referred to by its initials, K.C., is the largest city in the US state of Missouri and is the predominant city of a metropolitan area of more than two million people spanning the Missouri–Kansas border.
It is officially nicknamed the City of Fountains. With over 200 fountains, the city claims to have the second most in the world, just behind Rome.
The city lies in the southern margin of the humid continental climatic zones, with four distinct seasons, and moderate precipitation. Most of the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area sees a fairly mild climate for various periods in each season. However, there is also significant potential for extremes of hot and cold swings in temperature all year long. The warmest month of the year is July.
