ABOUT MILWAUKEE, WI

Milwaukee Parking Guide

About Milwaukee Milwaukee is the largest city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, the 28th most populous city in the United States, and 39th most populous region in the United States. Known for its brewing traditions, major new additions to the city include the Milwaukee Riverwalk, the Delta Center (formerly "Frontier Airlines Center"), Miller Park, an internationally renowned addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and Pier Wisconsin, as well as major renovations to the U.S. Cellular Arena.

Milwaukee is a popular venue for Lake Michigan sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, ethnic dining, and cultural festivals. Often referred to as the City of Festivals, Milwaukee has various cultural events which take place throughout the summer at Maier Festival Park, on the lake. Museums and cultural events, such as Jazz in the Park, occur weekly in downtown parks.

While Milwaukee had been previously marketed as "A Genuine American City" as well as "A Great Place on a Great Lake," it has earned the nickname, the "City of Festivals."

Parking in Milwaukee The City of Milwaukee has a variety of parking rules and regulations. For metered parking, The City has 7 types of meter rates: 15-minute, 25-minute, 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 hour meters. Meter rates are $0.25/hr. to $1.50/hr., depending upon location. Free meter parking: On Sunday throughout the City

Meters are not in effect on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Martin Luther King Day
  • Memorial Day
  • July 4th
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Though there is plenty of metered parking space, due to growing business and other reasons it could be very difficult to find curbside parking sometimes. One can beat the parking crowd by looking for off street parking options which prove to be good as long term parking options as well.

Visit BestParking.com for all appropriate off street parking options to reserve a parking space. Compare the rates on an interactive map for the most economical and suitable option. Best Parking helps you choose the best suitable parking facility for off street parking via an interactive map.
