About Omaha
Omaha is the largest city in the state of Nebraska, United States. It is located in the Midwestern United States on the Missouri River, about 20 miles (30 km) north of the mouth of the Platte River. Omaha is generally divided into six geographic areas: Downtown, Midtown, North Omaha, South Omaha, West Omaha, and East Omaha.
According to USA Today, Omaha ranks eighth among the nation's 50 largest cities in both per-capita billionaires and Fortune 500 companies. Omaha has a humid continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters.
Parking in Omaha
Downtown Omaha offers a wide variety of parking options, from pay-for-use garages and surface lots to metered parking on the street. The city of Omaha Public Works Department regulates the parking system in the city. According to the city of Omaha Public Works Department, you need to pay to park at a metered spot between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is no charge to park after 5 p.m. weekdays or on Saturday and Sunday.
Parking Fee
Parking meters located in the downtown area charge $1 an hour (with a two-hour limit). In the Midtown District, the fee is $1.25 an hour.
No Parking fee is charged on the following holidays:

- President's Day,
- Memorial Day,
- Independence Day,
- Labor Day, Columbus Day,
- Veteran's Day,
- Thanksgiving Day,
- Christmas Day.
