Pittsburgh is the seat of Allegheny County and is the second-largest city in the U.S. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh is known as both "the Steel City" for its more than 300 related businesses and "the City of Bridges" for its world record 446 bridges. The city also features 27 skyscrapers and two inclined railways.

Pittsburgh has grown its economic base in recent years to include technology, retail, finance, education, and medicine. Medicine in particular constitutes a large proportion of total employment in the city. The city's weather features four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and humid, while winters are cold and snowy. Spring and autumn are generally unstable yet mild.

Parking in Pittsburgh
Street meters hours are Monday - Saturday 8:00 am-6:00 pm and lots are Monday- Saturday 8:00 am -10:00 pm.

Meter Parking
Pittsburgh Parking Authority (PPA) manages and regulates all parking based activities in the city. There are approximately 8,500 metered spaces located on-street and in PPA neighborhood metered lots. Technicians from the Authority Meter Shop inspect meters on a daily basis. Response time to repair a reported malfunctioning meter is usually within 24 hours. The number to call with information on a broken or malfunctioning meter is 412-560-2534. On-street meters and lot meters duration, rate and time may vary according to the time demanded at each location.

Resident Parking Permits
The Residential Permit Parking Program (RPPP) was designed to free up on-street parking for neighborhood residents by preventing all day commuters parking on residential streets.

Parking in Garages
There are a plenty of garage parking options available in and around the downtown area. One may choose to park in a garage if the parking requirement is for more than just an hour or two.
