Downtown Jacksonville’s Entertainment and Sports District has much to offer guests, from concerts to baseball and hockey, but only TIAA Bank Field can supply professional football in person and in high definition. Bounded by other stadiums and an amphitheater, the area can get rather crowded, making it important to book convenient TIAA Bank Field parking in advance with BestParking. Home to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the venue was built upon the site of the defunct Gator Bowl Stadium, which was demolished in 1994. The venue’s name has shifted over time, originally named Jacksonville Municipal Stadium from its opening in 1995 to 1996. The telecommunications company Alltel owned the naming rights to what was then named Alltel Stadium from 1997 to 2006 before it reverted back to the municipal name for three years. The EverBank financial services company purchased the rights in 2010 to redub the arena as EverBank Stadium. The name then changed to the current TIAA Bank Field after TIAA Bank purchased EverBank and inherited the naming rights. The stadium can seat up to 82,000 guests, but is currently configured for 67,814 seats. The venue has been renovated three times, in 2003-04, 2014 and 2016. The 2014 renovation included a pair of large HD LED scoreboards for the end zones by Daktronics, which are some of the biggest of their type in the world. The 2016 renovation resulted in the construction of Daily’s Place amphitheater next to the south end of the venue. The arena hosted Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005 and is a popular venue for musical acts. Due to its centralized location, Jacksonville Jaguars football and concerts, it can be difficult to find TIAA Bank Field parking unless you book ahead of time with BestParking.
