North Oakland is one of the four neighborhoods of Oakland, Pittsburgh’s major cultural, academic, and healthcare center. Located between Neville and Bouquet Streets, North Oakland encompasses all of Craig Street, the central business district of North Oakland, and running north to Polish Hill, a neighborhood of primarily residential buildings and home to Pittsburgh’s largest churches. One of Pittsburgh’s landmarks, the Cathedral of Learning, is located here in North Oakland. The Cathedral of Learning is home to the University Honors College, the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, and the College of General Studies and functions as a classroom and administrative center of these universities.
