Central Oakland is a neighborhood in Oakland that is bordered by the Boulevard of the Allies, Schenley Park, Fifth Avenue, and Halket Street. The Oakland Square Historic District, a neighborhood conceived by the developer Eugene O'Neill in the 1890s, is also located here. The houses built in this district were all reminiscent of the early Victorian England and Dublin. Forbes and Fifth Avenue features most of the restaurants, financial and commercial businesses, shopping and retail, which makes it the main business district of the neighborhood.
